Kirk Cousins drops an unbelievable hint about his future with Vikings
Kirk Cousins’ future is uncertain after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in his contract year, but the door appears open for him to return to the Minnesota Vikings.
Cousins said Friday he still wants to finish his career in Minnesota, but admitted injuries could complicate things.
“When I went to Washington, I always said, ‘I want to be the quarterback of a team for the rest of my career.’ It’s very unusual.
It’s very difficult,” Cousins said, via Ben Gossling of the Star Tribune .
.
“When things were going bad in Washington, when I came here, I thought, ‘I don’t want to be a two-team quarterback, and I want the [Minnesota] quarterback to be good.’ A one-team quarterback who plays for the Minnesota Vikings.” Of course, that desire hasn’t changed – it’s still the same.
There are so many things in this world that are out of my control.
How can I get more?
That doesn’t mean it will be.
So I’m open to it, but I’d love it if it was.”
Cousins suffered a season-ending injury in Week 8, but has played well so far, recording 18 tackles and 5 interceptions.
He turns 36 in August, so there could be some risk if Minnesota decides to lean on him.
The veteran quarterback spent the last six seasons of his career with the Vikings and was selected to three Pro Bowls during that time.
