Las Vegas GP dubbed “National League” of F1 as Max Verstappen goes on “s**tfaced” rant

Max Verstappen recently reiterated that he is not a fan of the Las Vegas Grand Prix and is the harshest critic of F1’s glamorous new event.

If Monaco is the Formula 1 Champions League, the Las Vegas Grand Prix circuit is at the “National League” level.

This is the opinion of Max Verstappen, who does not hesitate to express his opinion.
He did this after finishing third when it looked like he wouldn’t be in the race.

After the opening ceremony earlier this week, the Dutchman complained he “felt like a clown” and said the whole event was “99% spectacle and 1% sport”.
He also took a negative view of the play itself, telling reporters how much he disliked it.

Verstappen, who finished third in the race, delivered his harshest criticism yet.
“Monaco is the Champions League.
It is the National League.” He joked, comparing F1’s past and present extravaganzas to very different prestigious football competitions.
But he didn’t stop there.
When given the opportunity in the post-qualifying press conference, the Red Bull driver went into detail about why he doesn’t like F1 racing at this circuit and in this city.
The Red Bull driver said: “It can take a long time, but I think some elements of the show are important and I like the excitement.” When I was young, it was about emotions.
It’s not the sport around me, it’s the sport I fell in love with.
Because I don’t think that counts as a true runner.
“First of all, race cars, at least Formula 1 street cars, are not really brought to life.
They’re not that interesting. I think that’s what a good racetrack is all about.
As you know, when you go to a place like a spa or Monza, you are full of excitement and passion.
It’s great to see the fans there, it’s great that we’re driving there, it’s exciting and we love driving there.

“Obviously we understand that the fans have something to do on the track.
But I think it’s important to help people understand what we do as a sport because so many fans come to celebrate.
, drink, participate. DJ games or performance activities.
The Las Vegas Strip has been transformed into a Formula 1 circuit for special action-packed weekends until the 2023 season. With the second-longest circuit on the calendar and plenty of new faces, there are still plenty of unknowns and you can catch all the action on Sky Sports.
“I can do it anywhere in the world.
I could go to Ibiza, mess everything up and have fun. But then this happens and basically people come and become fans of what?
They want to see their favorite artists, have a drink with friends and go out and have a fun night.
“But they don’t understand what we do and what we’re trying to do.
If we spend more time on real sports, that’s what we’re trying to achieve here.” We grew up dreaming of becoming world champions.
“If you think the sport is going to pay more attention to these things and explain what the teams are doing throughout the season, what they’re achieving and what they’re working towards, I think having more of these things is the way to go.” I think…
it’s more important to see all the random shows than where they are.

“It’s not something I’m very passionate about, but I like to feel passion and excitement in places like this. I love Vegas, but I don’t drive an F1 car.
I like to go out and have a few drinks, throw on everything red, do something a little crazy and eat good food.
However, like I said, it lacks emotion and passion compared to some of the old school songs.”
