Ben Roethlisberger throws massive shade at Browns despite Steelers loss
Former Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger threw shade at the Cleveland Browns after their Week 11 win.
The Pittsburgh Steelers offense didn’t do much on Sunday against the top-ranked Cleveland Browns defense. Much of that will depend on Matt Canada and Kenny Pickett, but it wouldn’t be surprising if the Steelers try to successfully replace future Hall of Famer Ben Roethlisberger.
It’s rare for a franchise to go from one Hall of Famer to another. The Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers are rare exceptions. But look no further than Pittsburgh or New England for examples of what happens when you misunderstand the next person. Pickett and Mack Jones were first-round picks and neither lived up to lofty expectations.
Roethlisberger watched his beloved Steelers lose 6-4 in Cleveland on Sunday. Dorian Thompson-Robinson and the Browns put in a great effort, but Big Ben wasn’t impressed.

“It’s Brown’s Super Bowl.” #steelworkers
Roethlisberger’s podcast, “Football with Ben Roethlisberger,” has been a big hit with Pittsburgh fans. But if you hear Big Ben announcing it’s the Browns Super Bowl, it’s not going to go over well in Cleveland.
Ben Roethlisberger is chasing the Cleveland Browns.
Big Ben dominated the Browns at the time with a combined 26-2-1 win over Cleveland. He was also undefeated during his senior year at Ohio State. So it’s understandable why Roethlisberger feels comfortable making such a statement. But the reality is that Roethlisberger isn’t there to save Pittsburgh’s offense this time around. Either way, Pickett and the Canadiens need to improve this scheme. Otherwise, the Steelers’ cap hits 2023. Roethlisberger hasn’t been shy about criticizing the team in the past either. So far, he has chosen not to directly ask Pickett, who is in his second year with the Steelers. Big Ben is expected to remain largely silent on the matter. For the Browns, they can take solace in Roethlisberger without ever walking through the door in Pittsburgh.
