New OC Eddie Faulkner on promotion: “I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel blessed.”
It’s been a busy week for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team fired offensive coordinator Matt Canada and named running backs coach Eddie Faulkner as interim offensive coordinator. While he doesn’t want Canada to be fired, Faulkner appreciates the importance of opportunity.
“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think it was a blessing,” Faulkner said. “I understand perfectly. You know what i mean? For example, I have reached a stage where I fully understand the possibilities of my career. But at the same time, don’t hide what the mission is.
Faulkner hopes to take this offense and lift it from the bottom of the league in most categories. His rushing attack has been a highlight for the team in recent weeks. He and fellow coach Mike Sullivan will also have to figure out how to run the offense.
