Browns DE Myles Garrett jokingly ‘stalked’ Joe Flacco at practice
Rivals became teammates this week when the Cleveland Browns added former Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco to their practice squad.
Flacco played against the Browns 21 times in his career (mostly during his time with the Ravens) and played a lot against Cleveland defensive end Myles Garrett. So Garrett joked about watching Flacco during the team’s first practice.
“I followed that guy around a little bit,” Garrett said Friday, laughing. Flacco is on the other side of 1.5 of Garrett’s 87.5 career sacks, but understands the 6-foot-4, 227-pound defensive end’s fears. Now Flacco can evaluate Garrett as a teammate rather than a competitor. “[Passengers] always seem a little more attractive and friendly when they’re not wearing uniforms and helmets and shoulders,” Flacco said Wednesday. “But yeah, he’s a monster and he’s had a good year so it’s good to be on the same side as him.”
Garrett is one of the top contenders for Defensive Player of the Year this season. He leads the NFL with 13.0 this season. It’s the sixth time Garrett has recorded double-digit sacks in a season.
