Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase fires warning shot at Steelers defense

Ja’Marr Chase caught a pass from rookie Jake Browning in place of Joe Burrow for the first time in his career, but that didn’t stop him from talking.

Chase Burroughs heard all the doubters following last week’s season-ending loss, and the former college QB is ready to prove he can still be a threat. “We’re going to show everything this week,” Chase told Jeff Hobson of Bengals.com. “Wait for the show.”

As always, rookie Joey Porter Jr. is a mess. “It’s a situation I’ve always dreamed of as a kid, to have a DB that can go one-on-one with the best players,” Porter said of guard Ja’Marr Chase. “Now it’s my turn to take this opportunity and see if I can do it. “I think he’s a complete athlete and a good player. He’s been in the league for a long time, so I’m looking forward to this game. Now that you feel ready, let’s do it.

In Cincinnati’s last game against the Steelers, Chase was sidelined with a groin injury. Overall, he had 233 yards and three touchdowns in three games against the Steelers. Chase talks the talk, but can he run against Porter and the Steelers defense? We will find out in 24 hours.
