Dollas cowboys head coach release statement on Turpin Cowboys future.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, who went on third-and-6 in Thursday’s game, stayed in the game during the big win against Washington on Thanksgiving Day.

Looks like there’s more to “Crime on the Texas Coast.” Yes, Dallas’ 45-10 victory was big enough to knock the holiday turkey legs out of the Salvation Army cauldron.

But it was also meant to show another side of this crime… So Prescott threw the ball to wide receiver KaVontae Turpin, resulting in a 34-yard field goal that made him the third player to reach the end zone this season.

Turpin is only 5-9… But on the other hand, the former two-year USFL MVP is still on the rise.

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy praised Turpin after the Thanksgiving game for his explosiveness on route runs and versatility on the field. “I have no control over the mail routes they run,” McCarthy said of the play. “You can see his angle, his stride, his timing, the stress he puts on the safety and the safety’s reaction to Brandin (Cooks) coming off the red line. I think it is a real picture of the sculpt and details. Tough is playing with it now.

Turpin was a Pro Bowler as a rookie due to his return skills, but was targeted twice in the 2022 season and recorded just one interception. Last July, McCarthy stressed that Turpin needed to learn the ins and outs of the game in order to get opportunities in attack, and he has certainly done that this season.

Turpin has 10 catches for 113 yards and three TDs this year and another eight TDs for 79 yards. The relationship between Turpin, Prescott and McCarthy has been rekindled, and Thanksgiving is just one example.

Keyten Turpin: “Death, everyone trusts each other. Every week we try our best to do better than the week before and it looks like we’re doing just that.\’\’

McCarthy has seen Turpin’s progress and likes what he sees. But to increase the number on the stat sheet, you need to provide more opportunities on the field. “He’s going to continue to grow and he’s done a really good job in the front office,” McCarthy added. “I am proud of this young man. …He is a special boy.\’\’
