Norris calls for FIA to reverse ‘appalling’ changes to F1 rules.
Lando Norris has criticized Formula 1’s new qualifying rules for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend. This is to prevent drivers from overtaking when exiting the pits. He called on regulators to return to the original rules.
After regulators introduced minimum lap times to prevent drivers from moving too slowly on the exit laps, some slowed down and used pit exits or pit lanes to make way for pit lanes. Drive forward. After finishing fifth, Norris told Motorsport.com he was unhappy with the new rules.
“I think it’s a terrible rule,” he said. “The problem is we have to have rules because it’s another stupid rule they put on us,” he said, referring to the minimum lap time rule.
āIf there’s a red flag and there’s three minutes left, there’s three cars going ā¦ I don’t know. We have to go back to the way things were before.”
