JUST-IN: Cowboys, Eagles enter bidding war for Free Agent Linebacker Recently released by colts
Free agent tight end Shaquille Leonard is expected to visit the Cowboys on Tuesday and then the Eagles later this week, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Leonard, a four-time All-Pro, was released by the Colts on Nov. 1. 21.
At one time, Leonard was the best linebacker in the NFL. He was the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2018, led the league in tackles that year, and also led the NFL in forced fumbles in 2021. However, his performance has declined significantly in recent years. Leonard played just three games in 2022 due to various injuries, including a concussion and a back injury. Leonard has played just 65 snaps this year and has yet to record a sack or forced fumble in nine games. Colts quarterback Shaquille Leonard, 53, screamed as he left the field after Sunday’s game against the Panthers at Bank of America Stadium.
Both Philadelphia and Dallas hope to reach the Super Bowl, something Leonard was never able to accomplish in Indianapolis. Despite the drop in production, his experience was invaluable to both competitors.
