Philadelphia Eagles star sends challenge to ‘crying’ San Francisco 49ers

Haason Reddick sent a message to the San Francisco 49ers as the Philadelphia Eagles prepare to host their NFC conference rivals in an NFL Week 13 matchup this weekend.

Philadelphia Eagles star Haason Reddick spoke out against the San Francisco 49ers after last season’s NFC Championship game led to “a lot of crying.”

The Eagles defeated the Niners in the NFC Championship Game on January 1st. He is scheduled to face the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl on September 29. During the game, Niners quarterback Brock Purdy suffered an elbow injury that sidelined him for most of the game. Due to injuries, the Niners inserted backup QB Josh Johnson into the game. Johnson later suffered a concussion, meaning San Francisco is without a fullback to rely on in the biggest game of the season. Purdy is slated to return in time for the start of the 2023 season. Now, the quarterback will get a chance to face the Eagles again on Sunday when the two teams meet in Game 13 this week at Lincoln Financial Field. Reddick was the player Purdy sacked in last season’s NFC Championship Game, causing an injury to the quarterback. Now, the Eagles pass rusher has sent the Niners a message, giving them a task ahead of their rematch. “Talk is cheap,” Reddick told KYW Newsradio’s Dave Uram. β€œThey (Niners) could go back to the rink (Lincoln Financial Field). Last year was a lot of joy, a lot of crying, a lot of things like that, a lot of things. “They have a chance to come back here and come together and prove it again.”

Niners star Deebo Samuel said Purdy’s injury played a big part in this year’s loss to the Eagles in May. The wide receiver said in the same interview that he considers the Eagles the “ugliest team” in the NFL. “I was relieved because we were playing with 10 guys,” Samuel told Complex on May 4. “I’m not going to talk about what could have happened or what would have happened, but yes, the outcome would have been different.”

Both the Eagles and Niners have had impressive seasons in the NFL this year. There are six regular season games left between the two teams this season, and the race for the top seed in the NFC heats up in the second half of the season.

The Eagles are 10-1 on the year after beating the Buffalo Bills on Sunday to become the first team in the league to win 10 games this season. San Francisco went 8-3 after beating the Seattle Seahawks in Week 12.
