Official: Cleveland Browns Suddenly Cut Veteran Running Back

Cleveland has decided to part ways with veteran Kenyan Drake. Drake joined the Browns’ practice squad from the Baltimore Ravens at the NFL trade deadline, adding depth to the running back position. He spent two years with the Ravens, but did not perform as well as the team had hoped.

Drake began his NFL career in 2016 with the Miami Dolphins. After four years in Miami, he was traded to the Arizona Cardinals and became a decent weapon for the team. After a 955 home run season, he was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021 and to Baltimore the following year. The veteran has been everywhere, and now he’s a free agent again.

The veteran has 3,866 rushing yards and 33 touchdowns since joining the league. After Cleveland signed him to their practice squad, many thought he would make it with the team, especially with Chubb out for the rest of the season. However, since Hunt has run the bulk of the offense, we haven’t seen him in action for the Browns. Cleveland currently sits in third place in the highly competitive AFC North with 7 wins and 4 losses. They will look to move up to second in the division against the Pittsburgh Steelers and will travel to Southern California this week to take on the Los Angeles Rams. As for Drake, he is now a free agent, so it will be interesting to see if a team decides to sign him.
