Trout hasn’t played in 140 games in a season since 2018 and has played in just 237 games over the past three seasons due to injuries. The Phillies should feel good about that history and hope Trout can stay healthy. For the Angels, it’s Castellanos, who will make $20 million each of the next three seasons, and prospect Justin Crawford (in this case, the son of former MLB star Carl Crawford and one of their top prospects). The Phillies might be the only destination that can convince Millville, New Jersey’s Trout to agree to a deal. They will try to pair Trout with Bryce Harper in the NL (the two Cooperstown men have an eternal mental connection because they arrive at the same time).
