James Bradberry responds to Deebo Samuel calling him ‘trash’
Eagles cornerback James Bradberry hit it off Wednesday when asked about Deebo Samuel’s comments.
James Bradberry spoke to reporters at his locker Wednesday and was asked about Debo Samuel’s repeated comments about the NFC Championship Game. James Bradbury was all smiles as a crowd gathered around his locker Wednesday afternoon. He knew what was going to happen. During the 49ers’ sour grapes season, star wide receiver Deebo Samuel called Bradberry “garbage.” Samuel had a chance to respond to these comments this week, but he didn’t.

“Obviously I don’t like what he’s saying,” Bradbury said. “I wish I could have used better words to describe my game. But that’s it. “At the end of the day, what I can control is my work ethic and what I do every day.”
Bradbury, who was a second-team All-Pro in 2022, won’t play in the 2023 season. But he’s having what could be his best game of the year. Against the Bills, Bradberry threw a game-changing pass to Josh Allen and five interceptions. Bradbury will enter his eighth NFL season in 2023. Bradbury was very professional Wednesday and avoided any public backlash, but was asked if there was a time in his career when such comments bothered him.
“As you know, I’ve been playing football since I was eight years old,” he said. “I’m 30 now, so I’ve played 22 years of my life. I’ve had people say bad things about me. When I graduated high school, people told me I couldn’t. It was a transition when I was in college. People said I couldn’t play corner because initially I played safe. And when I got into the league, people told me I couldn’t do certain things.
“I was drafted in the second round. This is the 8th year in the league. So I don’t really care about the negative comments. I try not to let it get to me. I’m just trying to get my work ethic under control and get in line on Sunday. Whatever cards I have, I will play them. And let the product speak for itself.”
The Eagles advanced to Super Bowl LVII with a 31-7 victory over the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game last January. In that game, the 49ers suffered injuries and the Eagles beat them. Why does Bradbury think Samuel calls him trash?
Bradbury replied, “You’ll have to ask him.” “From the footage I saw, it looked like they had a good plan against us, like they were opening a path for us. Yes, I do not know. “You should ask that person.”
A lot has changed since the Eagles and 49ers last played, but they are still the two best teams in the conference and the league. The Eagles enter Sunday’s game with a 10-1 record and the 49ers are 8-3, but enter the game as favorites. Although these two teams are different, there is still a lot of history between them. But Bradbury said Wednesday that the comments didn’t give him any additional motivation. “Not. Last year was the last year.” He said. “The extra motivation is just to be a dating partner. They are right there with us in the NFC. And it will be a big challenge for us because we are a great team.”
