You probably heard a pin drop in the Pittsburgh Steelers locker room after the Arizona Cardinals were upset 24-10. But it was the complete opposite of the visiting team’s dressing room. Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported of the player: “Matt Canada was watching the game from his bed and said, ‘I’m the problem, aren’t I?'” he exclaimed.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have been known for years to “Take your hat off” as visitors bask in the glory of victory in the locker room. This time, the Cardinals were at home. The Cardinals had every right to sack the Steelers. They expected Arizona to turn things around and instead they played like it was their Super Bowl. In Pittsburgh’s case, the second line was awkward. It was just before it rained.
The Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t bad, they’re awful. Even without Matt Canada, the offense barely managed 300 yards and its only touchdown came when it stopped counting. This is still a Canadian offense, and the Steelers show you can’t put lipstick on a pig, even if they dress it up a bit against the Cincinnati Bengals. Next week, Pittsburgh faces the New England Patriots, who are allowing just 219 yards and 21 points per game. It would be truly amazing if the Steelers could score 21 points. The Steelers were so bad that even the Cardinals players collapsed after their first road win in 385 days.
