Aston Martin announces name change for 2024 F1 season

After concluding an exclusive title sponsorship agreement with an existing partner, the team’s name will be slightly altered beginning with the following season.

After reaching an exclusive agreement with its current sponsor, Aramco, Aston Martin will change its name for the Formula One season in 2024.

Cognizant, the Silverstone team that competed in the previous season under the name Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant F1 Team, will officially change its name to Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team on January 1, 2024.

Prior to the 2022 season, the Saudi Arabian oil company joined the team as a sponsor and will now expand to have title sponsor rights.

Owner Lawrence Stroll stated, “We are very proud to continue and strengthen our successful partnership with Aramco.”

“Our support as our title partner for the next five years is a clear demonstration of our shared ambition. We already enjoy an important strategic relationship with them.

“They have been an integral part of Aston Martin’s Formula One journey since 2022, and their contribution will only grow in importance in the years to come.

“When we begin our partnership with Honda Works Power Unit in 2026, we are working together on several key initiatives, including the development of advanced fuels.”

Aston Martin came in fifth place in the 2023 season with 280 points, eight podiums for Fernando Alonso, who finished fourth in the Drivers’ standings and Lance Stroll finished in 10th place.
