George Pickens receives fine heavily for unsportsmanlike conduct penalty vs. Bengals
George Pickens is fined for his unsportsmanlike behavior during the Bengals game.
Pickens informed the Bengals that he had smoked them.
The Cincinnati Bengals are gearing ready for this weekend’s game at Arrowhead against the Kansas City Chiefs, but some information regarding their defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers last weekend leaked out today.
Tom Pelissero reports that George Pickens was fined by the NFL for acting in an unsportsmanlike manner after scoring a touchdown in the third quarter. As he entered the end zone, he gave a high five and gestured back to Jordan Battle. The play was not flagged.
Last week, Pickens had a huge game against the Bengals’ defense. He had four catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns at the end of the game.
In spite of what you may believe, the fine by the NFL totals $16,391.
Right in the middle of the AFC Wild Card race, if the Bengals can pull off two wins to end the season, they likely will play postseason football for the third straight season.
Kind of a wild fine for Pickens, but this seems to be the new norm by the league.
