FIA pay attention to Max Verstappen as promise made after star’s ‘exceptionally terrible’ fears

One of Max Verstappen’s main issues with respect to the 2026 specialized guideline changes looks set to be addressed after the FIA made a vow to groups.

The overseeing body has promised that they wouldn’t consider expanding the greatest weight cap that groups should adhre to while fostering their apparatus.

The flow guideline period happened during the 2022 season with groups turning to creating ground-result vehicles following a time of mechanical downforce. The approval of these modifications was based on the hope that they would lessen the negative effects of polluted air, enable cars to follow in closer proximity, and thus enhance the quality of the product produced on the track.

Verstappen had made his sentiments with respect to the impending changes clear during the 2023 season, expressing: ” The vehicles likely have significantly less drag so surpassing on the straight will be considerably more enthusiastically. Then you have the dynamic streamlined features, which you [as the driver] have no control over, the framework will control it for you. It makes it exceptionally off-kilter to drive since I like to control it myself.

Naturally, if you are trailing someone, you may require more front or rear support, among other things. Assuming the framework begins to control that for you, I don’t feel that is the correct way forward. Once more, besides the weight is going up. Along these lines, definitely, we need to truly take a gander at this, since ’26 isn’t excessively far away.

“They won’t have a simple ride there. However, we will adhere to as far as possible we will force, and we will not be swelling upwards in the future. They will simply need to push harder to lessen the weight in the event that they can’t make it.”

Tombazis was extremely clear in his explanation to group administrators, affirming: ” We won’t surrender this ceaseless kind of wheeling and dealing for two or three kilos, where the groups say, ‘you’ve added the electrical, we should add two kilos’, or ‘the tires are a piece heavier, we should add another couple of kilos’ and that’s what things like. That will not be what we do. That limit must be adhered to by teams. Furthermore, I figure there could be a few groups that are a piece overweight in 2026.”
