Luke Littler makes promise to girlfriend, 21, live on ITV’s Good Morning Britain

Luke Smaller showed up on the early evening visit show the morning after his exceptional run at the Big showdown finished in a 7-4 loss against world No.1 Luke Humphries

Luke Smaller has vowed to help out his sweetheart arrive at his level in the wake of completing as sprinter up at the Big showdown.

Tinier was beaten 7-4 by world No1 Luke Humphries in the last at Alexandra Castle on Wednesday night. On the biggest stage, the 16-year-old showed no signs of nerves and even missed a dart at double two to lead 5-2.

Despite falling short, Littler has secured a £200,000 pay cheque and become a near overnight celebrity due to his remarkable talent at such a young age. His incredible success, which saw him beat five-time world champion Raymond van Barneveld and 2018 champion Rob Cross, has propelled him from outside the top 150 players in the world to the top 32, but he won’t let it get to his head.

Appearing on ITV ’s Good Morning Britain the day after his World Championship final, Littler explained that he is looking forward to getting back to his practice board with his girlfriend. Eloise Milburn, 21, has been an ever-present at Ally Pally and is also a keen player.

“Yeah, obviously I’ve just played in that one, so hopefully I can practise with Eloise and try and get her to where I am,” Littler said. Eloise plays at the Walton Working Men’s Club and represents the Surrey Women’s darts side, but the couple actually met through another shared love: gaming.

They were introduced by mutual friends on Xbox while playing FIFA and, although he has been caught up with his success at Ally Pally, Littler admitted he has missed gaming. Explaining his routine before the final on Wednesday, he said: “I had scrambled eggs and beans on toast for dinner. I woke up at 12.

“Then we go to the venue, sign everyone in, get the wristbands on, have a margarita pizza and then throw for like half an hour or 45 minutes, go and bull-up to see who throws first, play a bit of Football Manager then back on the board.

Asked if he was a big gamer, he replied: “Yeah, I can’t wait to go back on my Xbox.” He then admitted he was annoyed he hadn’t brought the console down to north London from Warrington for the event, adding: “I didn’t expect it, [I] didn’t expect to get to the final.”

Littler has been exceptional at the World Championship and he said the key to his success was not putting any pressure on himself and making sure he doesn’t over-practice. Asked about his training, he said: “Believe it or not, about half an hour, 45 minutes [per day]. I just practise on my own and it gets boring. I’m just bored. My Xbox is next to me, there’s a board there, so I just go on my Xbox.”
