Browns Lose Pass-Catcher to Concussion Ahead of Playoffs

The Cleveland Browns may not have rookie wide receiver Cedric Tillman for their Wild Card matchup against the Houston Texans.

In Sunday’s 31-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Tillman sustained a concussion. He is presently in the concussion protocol, and it is unclear how he will fare moving ahead.

Against the Bengals, Tillman caught three catches for 43 yards from backup quarterback Jeff Driskel.

Following the game, Kevin Stefanski, the head coach of the Browns, remarked, “We’ll see how it goes.” “We’ll see, because as you know, it’s impossible to forecast these things and how the men would react. Not happy for Ced.

After registering just three catches in his first four games, Tillman has become a larger part of the passing game. He’s had multiple catches in six of the last seven games. For the season, Tillman has notched 21 catches for 224 yards. He has yet to find the end zone.

Tillman was selected by the Browns in the third round of the current draft. With most of the starting players on the bench, the squad was interested to see how he would perform in a more significant position.

Stefanski stated, “It’s just turns, it’s just opportunities, it’s reps,” on Friday, January 5. It’s whichever way you choose to interpret that term. I believe the more practice is beneficial since a lot of this game involves making mistakes, and having a lot of reps allows you to make mistakes and fix them. Thus, I believe that simply getting more chances at it would be incredibly beneficial for all those young boys.

After losing, the Browns don’t worry about momentum.

There was nothing at risk for the Browns in the Week 18 encounter. To come out healthy was the aim. That was untrue in the instance of Tillman’s and a few other people’s injuries.

Pierre Strong Jr., a backup running back, had a back injury. A shin injury also caused veteran defensive tackle Shelby Harris to leave the game. It’s unclear how serious the injuries were.

The Browns’ four-game winning run came to an end with their loss to the Bengals. Cleveland, though, is not worried about their momentum going into the playoffs.

Stefanski remarked, “When you look at these games, it’s about what’s best for your football team,” in reference to benching most of their star players. “I understood that this was a fantastic chance for young men to gain

Browns Open as Favorite Against Texans

The Browns will hit the road for the Wild Card matchup against the Texans. Cleveland opened as a 2-point road favorite for the matchup. Houston locked up its playoff spot and the AFC South title with a win on Saturday night against the Indianapolis Colts and the Jacksonville Jaguars losing on Sunday.

“We have to really get back to work is where our focus is,” Stefanski said of the matchup. “I know how good of a team that is.”

The Browns faced the Texans on Christmas Eve and won the matchup comfortably 36-22. Joe Flacco passed for 368 yards, most of those going to Amari Cooper. The Browns’ top pass-catcher recorded 265 yards receiving — a franchise single-season record
