BREAKING: NFL Makes Controversial Decision On ‘Dangerously Cold’ Kansas City Chiefs Wild Card Game

Regarding Saturday night’s Kansas City Chiefs vs. Miami Dolphins Wild Card game, the NFL has reached a contentious choice. The National Weather Service is forecasting very cold temperatures in Kansas City on Saturday, according to USA Today:

When the Kansas City Chiefs play the Miami Dolphins at 8 p.m. on Saturday in Kansas City, the temperature will be dangerously low. The wind chill could reach -10 to as high as -35 degrees, and the temperature might find it difficult to climb above zero, according to the Kansas City National Weather Service.

Although the players on the field aren’t doing well in those conditions, the league also has an obligation to consider the needs of its patrons, the fans. Due to Peacock’s sole rights to broadcast the game outside of Miami and Kansas City, the NFL is already preparing to infuriate Chiefs and Dolphins supporters throughout the game.

The Chiefs/Dolphins game will not be moved, according to the NFL.

According to Andy Slater with Fox Sports 640, the league will not make a scheduling change for the Wild Card clash despite the potentially perilous weather forecast in Kansas City Saturday night.

In the past, the league has shifted game locations due to inclement weather. In fact, due of the hazardous weather moving into New York, there are preparations in place this week to perhaps transfer the Buffalo Bills vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Wild Card game to Cleveland.

The league need to think about following suit in Kansas City. This season, the Chiefs have put forth a lot of effort to get a home playoff game. The league ought to acknowledge that. However, there comes a point when dangerously low temperatures put players and spectators in danger, and that’s when the NFL should intervene.
