Colts sign former Chargers WR Terrell Bynum to reserve/future contract
To expand their positional depth during the offseason, the Colts signed a wide receiver as a depth player.
The former wide receiver Terrell Bynum of the Los Angeles Chargers was signed by the Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday to a reserve/future contract, the organization said.
The Chargers first signed the 6’0,” 188-pound wide receiver as an undrafted rookie free agency out of USC/Washington. Prior to being later re-signed to Los Angeles’ practice squad this season and finally upgraded ahead of their Week 11 matchup against the Green Bay Packers, he was a member of the team’s final roster cuts.
He participated in ten games for USC as a collegiate player in 2022, hauling in 16 catches for 159 yards (9.9 average) and one score. Before to USC, Bynum played for Washington in 34 games (19 starts) from 2017 to 21. He finished with 65 catches for 934 yards (14.4 avg.) and six touchdowns. In 2021, he received honorable mention status in the All-PAC-12.
With an outside chance to make the Colts’ final 53-man roster in 2024—Michael Pittman Jr., Isaiah McKenzie, and Juwann Winfree are all free agents, though Pittman Jr. ought to be re-signed—Bynum should contribute possible training camp and preseason depth.
