Duke basketball coach Jon Scheyer offered ‘positive’ update on his two injured starters
Neither of the knee injuries that limited two Duke starters in the Blue Devils’ 84-79 win over Georgia Tech on Saturday are expected to be long-term concerns.
On Monday morning, Duke mentor Jon Scheyer said that, while Jeremy Insect and Imprint Mitchell aren’t probably going to rehearse when the group resumes on-court work on Tuesday, they’ve not yet been precluded for Saturday’s 8 p.m. game with Pittsburgh at Cameron Indoor Arena.
“Confident about Saturday and we’ll take it step by step,” Scheyer said about the two players.
A senior watchman, Bug has begun No. 11 Duke’s last 32 games, the last 16 of last season and every one of the 16 this season so far. Scheyer demonstrated that neither Cockroach nor Mitchell would rehearse Tuesday and said that Bug could miss various practices.
“We’ll see where he’s at tomorrow,” Scheyer said. ” I question he’s ready to rehearse for the following couple of days.”
