Cowboys Were Jilted by Bill Belichick for ‘Media’ Reasons: Report
The Dallas Cowboys and team owner Jerry Jones decided to jilt the hopes of the team’s fans everywhere this week by bringing back coach Mike McCarthy, despite his sad-sack 1-3 playoff record in Dallas and the major upset the team suffered at the hands of the Packers in the playoff opener. But it might not have been entirely Jones’ decision. According to a report from Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, the Cowboys wanted to at least gauge the interest of legendary coach Bill Belichick in the Dallas job, but were rebuffed.
It would appear that Belichick is getting closer to landing in Atlanta. Both the Ranchers and Hawks, it was accounted for, were closed down in their likely quest for Belichick, driving the Cowpokes to stay with McCarthy and the Birds to keep Scratch Sirianni. One explanation, strangely, refered to by Florio is that Belichick would have rather not worked in a major media market any longer.
“One association source made sense of it, Belichick is accepted to be finished with ‘large market media,’ making him more leaned to go to a spot like Atlanta than Dallas or Philadelphia,” Florio composed for the current week.
“Concerning the Cattle rustlers and the Birds, there’s likewise a confidence in some association circles that both group communicated interest in Belichick, that Belichick didn’t respond, and that those groups then chose to stay with their ongoing mentors.”
Charge Belichick to Hawks Drawing near
As per various reports, the Hawks seem, by all accounts, to be surrounding the employing of Belichick as the group’s next lead trainer. It would be an intriguing match of an only 26 mentor wins short of the unequaled record for NFL mentors (held by Wear Shula with 328) and has five Super Bowl titles, and an association that has always lost a Super Bowl and has not been over .500 beginning around 2017.
Belichick has two times evaluated with Birds of prey proprietor Arthur Clear, and has been as of late inquisitive about the group’s faculty.
After the misfortune to the Packers, there was weighty hypothesis that the Cowpokes would be engaged with a potential move to Belichick. “Bill Belichick has, quietly in recent years, through doing football business and attending owners meetings, built a very solid relationship with both Jerry and Stephen Jones,” wrote SI.com insider Albert Breer on Twitter during the blowout loss. Things may be getting really fascinating here.”
Ranchers Stayed With Mike McCarthy
Obviously, they never got extremely fascinating when it came to the Cowpokes and Belichick — or some other potential lead trainer, besides. Following two days of consideration, the Cattle rustlers brought back McCarthy and once again introduced him with a public interview on Wednesday.
McCarthy drew disparagement from around the association when he proclaimed that the Cowpokes really do have a title program set up yet have not found time to win season finisher games yet.
Mike McCarthy has a directive for Ranchers fans:
“This would be my message: We have laid out a title program. McCarthy stated, “It’s just not the world championship yet.” We know how to win, we know how to prepare to win. We have the ideal individuals. However, we have not yet achieved the status of playoff champions. Furthermore, being staying here discussing it is incredibly disheartening. Yet, I know how to win. We will move past limit. I have complete trust in that, and that is what I’m standing doing here today.”
He might have been standing there that day for that reason. More probable, however, is that he was remaining there since Bill Belichick didn’t need the work.
