What is Georgia Getting in Benjamin Yurosek?

Stanford tight end Benjamin Yurosek has announced he will be transferring to the University of Georgia, so what are the Bulldogs getting in him?

Georgia have been very active in the transfer window this season, signing six players so far and looking to add more to the list. Former Stanford commit Benjamin Jurosek has announced he will transfer to Georgia, and now the question is what the Bulldogs will offer him. One of the biggest things Jurosek brings to Athens is in-game experience. Georgia has no shortage of talent, and even if Brock Bowers leaves for the NFL, they won’t have any experience until 2024. Rising junior Oscar Delp played alongside Bowers for a long stretch last season and helped fill the void during the injury, with the remaining snaps split between Lawson Lackey and Pierce Spurlin.

Jurosek spent the last four seasons at Stanford and received significant playing time in the last three. His best year came as a sophomore when he had 43 receptions for 658 yards and three touchdowns. His career numbers currently stand at 108 receptions, 1,342 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns. He missed half of the 2023 college football season due to injury. He also has a large frame, standing about 6 feet tall and weighing about 230 pounds, according to his player profile. Given how well Todd Hartley and the staff have embraced, it seems like one of the last positions Georgia needs to add, but adding Jurosek would go a long way in adding depth to the roster. Georgia is already known for having some very talented players, and this year’s 2024 recruiting class added to that number. But this season, depth will be a factor for everyone due to the extended season and tough conference schedule.
