Hughes Norton, the former agent of golfing legend Tiger Woods, has leveled accusations of betrayal against the 15-time major champion. Norton, who played a pivotal role in Woods’ early professional journey, expressed feelings of betrayal following their professional split.

Norton’s association with Woods dates back to the golfer’s formative years, having first encountered him at the age of 13. As Woods ascended to stardom in the realm of professional golf, Norton provided instrumental support, facilitating lucrative deals with renowned brands such as Titleist and notably, Nike.

However, their professional relationship took a sour turn when, one year later, Woods opted to part ways with Norton, despite their shared history and achievements. Norton, reflecting on the termination of their partnership, characterized it as a harsh and disheartening conclusion.

In anticipation of the release of his forthcoming book titled ‘Rainmaker’, Norton expressed his sentiments to the Daily Mail, describing the ordeal as a profound betrayal. He emphasized the gravity of the situation, asserting that it was a betrayal “with a capital B.”

“On a professional level, because I thought I’d done my job in spades. And on a personal level, because it was such a rejection of a relationship that we had built together for 10 years.”
