Samuel L. Jackson revealed that he accidentally beat Tiger Woods at golf by 8 strokes.
Samuel L. Jackson appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and told a funny story about Tiger Woods.
The actor, best known for his iconic film roles since the 1980s, recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
In one segment, the Pulp Fiction actor was asked to confirm or deny some crazy rumors circulating online.
One topic was about Woods and whether Jackson really beat the 15-time major champion and now celebrity in the game.
And, yes, it seems about right. Fallon asked: “Have you ever beaten Tiger Woods at golf? That cannot be true.”
Jackson said: “It was completely an accident…”
“What!” Fallon exclaimed. This time Jackson didn’t answer with “Say no more! I dare you, I dare you twice as much mom!”
Instead he dived in: “Well, the first time I ever played St Andrews they paired me with him in what was the Dunhill golf tournament, and I was a 16.
“So they gave me my 16 shots and I shot 78 because he said, ‘follow me’. And I stayed as close to him as I could and I shot 78.”
Fallon, astonished, interjects: “Wow”. “Which means I beat him by about eight strokes,” says Jackson.
“I mean, come on, not too shabby. That’s pretty cool,” says Fallon.
