Dustin Johnson grows LIV Golf empire by adding new signing to 4Aces GC

The instalment of an ‘experienced’ businessman as the team’s new general manager is the latest addition for the ambitious LIV Golf team, 4Aces GC which is captained by Dustin Johnson

Dustin Johnson has welcomed Chris Rosaasen to the 4Aces GC fold, with the team’s captain announcing former TravisMathew CEO as the team’s incoming General Manager.

The 2020 Masters winner departed the PGA Tour back in 2022, becoming one of LIV Golf’s most significant signings as he penned a four-year deal worth worth an estimated £98million. A major coup for PIF in the tour’s infancy, competing in its maiden event before becoming the skipper of 4 Aces GC.

The 39-year-old led by example as the team came out on top to finish at the team points list summit in the 2022 and 2023 seasons on the Saudi Arabian tour. Now, Johnson has announced the addition of close friend Rosaasen, who was the founder of 4Aces GC’s apparel sponsors Extracurricular.

The decision to install the businessman – who also is the CEO of the Omniverse Group – as their new GM will see him oversee a remit of turning the outfit into a ‘recognized franchise with monumental value’. He will be expected to do this by attracting new sponsors and expanding the team’s global reach by establishing a ‘unique and compelling brand identity’.

Boasting experience across the space of two decades, the tycoon has been described as having expertise in ‘brand-building, marketing, and business leadership’, as per LIV Golf. The Saudi Arabian circuit also acknowledged his ‘record of innovation in the golf industry’, which they posit will ‘strengthen and accelerate the growth of the 4Aces GC brand’.

Dustin Johnson was also convinced of the new recruit’s credentials, saying: “I have known Chris for many years, witnessing first-hand how he has built multiple successful brands. Chris’ vision for the team aligns perfectly with what we aim to achieve, and I have full confidence in his ability to propel 4Aces GC to greatness.”

Rosaasen duly spoke with pride after the announcement, adding: “What excites me most is the opportunity to create a globally recognized franchise in golf. Being at the forefront of innovation in the sports industry is an invaluable opportunity and I am looking forward to the challenge of doing something that has never been done before in golf.”

Last season, Johnson’s team finished in fourth place in the Team Championship at the close of the regular season campaign, with the team sitting in seventh in the 2024 stakes. The two-time major championships victor has had criticism from PGA Tour figures in the past, however, for his exit from the American circuit.

PGA Tour board member Webb Simpson previously told Golfweek, he said: ” I love Dustin (Johnson), he’s a buddy of mine b ut he had the opportunity to go down as one of the top 10 greatest players ever, and as soon as he signed his name to LIV – he still could be, but in the record books, we’ll never know.

“It’s not going to count. Things like that make me a little sad. But I’m not knocking the guys for going. I just think these young guys think about it differently, you know.”
