You had an interesting week!” fans react to Amanda Balionis, Rory McIlroy interview.

PGA Tour fans react to Amanda Balionis’ latest interview with Rory McIlroy in the final round of the RBC Canadian Open in light of their romance rumours on social media.

CBS reporter Amanda Balionis stifled a laugh and a smile as she told Rory McIlroy he had an ‘interesting week’ during her final-round interview with him at the RBC Canadian Open.

The Daily Mail published a report claiming that McIlroy, who is 35 years old, may be in a romantic relationship with Balionis, who is 38. This comes after McIlroy’s surprising divorce from his wife Erica Stoll.

McIlroy was linked to a possible romantic relationship with Balionis after a popular social media post.   Balionis has been a CBS golf reporter covering the PGA Tour for seven years.

Balionis is currently in the process of getting a divorce, as she has been frequently spotted not wearing her wedding ring for several months.    “Earlier this week, a report from Us Weekly disputed the rumors of a romantic relationship between Balionis and McIlroy, stating that they only have a professional relationship.”    Balionis seemed unable to resist a smile during her interview with McIlroy after his outstanding final round of 64 at Hamilton Golf & Country Club in Canada on Sunday.

Throughout their latest interview, McIlroy was seen looking towards the floor and without a great deal of eye contact with Balionis.

McIlroy could not reel in his European Ryder Cup teammate Bob MacIntyre in the final round as he went in search of a third RBC Canadian Open title, but he did chalk up a top-five finish.

MacIntyre went on to seal an emotional first PGA Tour title with his father Dougie on the bag.

Here’s how Balionis and McIlroy’s interaction went down on Sunday…

“Joining us now is Rory McIlroy, tied for the low round of the day. We’re watching right now, do you think what you just did could be enough?” said Balionis with a beaming smile.

McIlroy replied: “Ah, I don’t think so. I wish it was. Had a couple of good opoportunties on the way in. A good chance at 14 that just missed, and also on 15 too. I mean, selfishly it would be nice if it was enough, but Bob is a good friend of mine, Ryder Cup teammate, and it would be really good to see him get the job done.”

Balionis then said: “You had an interesting week. I know you on Thursday, you said you played the back nine blind, and then on Friday you felt out of whack, then you found something in your swing. Talk about the progression with this week and where you find yourself. It must give yourself a ton of confidence moving forward?”

McIlroy replied: ”  Yes, I didn’t practice much last week.   I only managed to practice nine holes.   My swing was a bit off, so I spent some time on the range on Friday night and made some improvements.

I had a good weekend on the course, finishing 11-under. It was enjoyable playing both rounds with Tom Kim; I always have fun playing with him.

Although it may not be sufficient, it gives me a solid foundation to build on for the upcoming Memorial and US Open tournaments.
