Luke Littler brutally speaks out after making history in Flanders Darts Trophy win – ‘I couldn’t afford.. full details 👇

Luke Littler has admitted he’s delighted after making history in his Flanders Darts Trophy win over Jermaine Wattimena on Saturday.

The 17-year-old took to the oche hoping to bounce back after his recent defeat to Peter Wright at the German Darts Masters.

And Littler showcased his obvious talent once again with a routine win in Belgium.

The darts star broke the recored for the highest ever average in a PDC event in the country as he stormed into the third round.

The Nuke was superior to his rival throughout the clash and cruised to a 6-1 win to set up a clash with fan favourite Dirk van Duijvenbode.

Littler averaged a brilliant 111.13 during his win, surpassing a record previously held by nemesis Luke Humphries.

And the darts star has now expressed his delight after producing yet another masterclass.

“I couldn’t afford to step off the gas because Jermaine was right behind me every time, but I took my chances.”

Littler is hoping to win his second trophy in Belgium, having secured glory at the Belgian Darts Open earlier this year.

And the 17-year-old has admitted he enjoys playing in the country, with the youngster adding: “I love playing in Belgium.

“The crowds are amazing here and they just love their darts.”

Should Littler make the final, which takes place later on Sunday, he could go up against Humphries.

The 29-year-old is returning to action after spending some time with his family in Turkey.

Humphries beat Ritchie Edhouse earlier on Saturday to continue his impressive form in 2024.

But whether both men can go all the way and secure glory remains to be seen.

Speaking after his own win, Humphries said: “It was a fantastic game, and I had to dig deep to get the job done.

“I knew I had a tough game on my hands, and Ritchie played really well there, but it was a solid performance.

“I’m looking forward to tomorrow now, and if I can get through that first game, that’s when I become dangerous.”
