In the midst of Red Bull success, Christian Horner predicts Toto Wolff and Mercedes.

Given that Max Verstappen is poised to win the Drivers’ Championship for the third year in a row, Mercedes is desperate to defeat Red Bull in Formula One in 2019.

Insisting that Toto Wolff is “plotting” something, Christian Horner anticipates Mercedes to be more competitive the following season.

The last two years have been dominated by Horner’s Red Bull in Formula One.
They have won back-to-back Constructors’ Championships, and at this weekend’s Qatar Grand Prix, Max Verstappen is predicted to win a third straight Drivers’ Championship.

Before Red Bull’s recent comeback, Mercedes ruled Formula One, taking eight straight Constructors’ Championships between 2014 and 2021.
Horner isn’t growing complacent in advance of 2024, despite his team’s dominance during the 2023 season.

Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, and George Russell, a rising star, have been praised by the head of Red Bull as “great” drivers who will improve once more.
Horner, however, has nothing but “respect” for Wolff’s group and wants to keep them under wraps.

According to Horner, competition in sports is important.
“Having competition is great.
Respect is required, but competition is a necessary part of sports.

Obviously, we haven’t seen much of him in the past couple of years, but I have no doubt that he is plotting.
I have no doubt that he is working on something.
They make an excellent team.
A sizable team, they are.
Great drivers are employed by them.
They’ll be trying to retaliate.

Despite the recent rivalry between Red Bull and Mercedes, Horner maintains that “everything goes in cycles” in Formula 1.
Since 2005, Horner has served as Red Bull’s team principal, and he oversaw their dominance between 2010 and 2013.

During that time, Sebastian Vettel won four Drivers’ Championships and four Constructors’ Championships for Red Bull.
However, Mercedes’ hegemony from 2014 to 2021 put an end to Red Bull’s successful run.
2021 Drivers’ Championship, which Verstappen controversially defeated Hamilton in, was the only championship Red Bull won during that time.

However, Horner insists that “we never lost sight of where we wanted to be” despite Red Bull’s status as F1’s “bridesmaid” during Mercedes’ hegemony. He is determined to put off the day when he believes another team will end their dominance at “some point.”.

Verstappen is almost certain to win three world championships this weekend, making him just the 11th driver to do so.
With three championships, he will join Ayrton Senna, Nelson Piquet, Niki Lauda, Jackie Stewart, and Jack Brabham, and at 26 years old, he is still sufficiently young to surpass them as F1’s most successful driver.

For the most world championships (seven), Michael Schumacher and Hamilton are tied.
As opposed to Alain Prost and Sebastian Vettel, Juan Manuel Fangio won five races.
When Verstappen wins his third world championship, he will join a “fairly exclusive club,” continued Horner.
