REPORT: NFL Is Looking To Play International Games In Spain Or Brazil In 2024
The NFL won’t give up until it can hold a game in every country on earth.
According to Eric Fisher of Front Office Sports, NFL Executive Vice President Peter O’Reilly stated earlier this season that the league had started looking into the possibility of holding a regular-season game in either Brazil or Spain next year.
The investigation is still ongoing, according to Fisher, and a decision is anticipated in December or January.
The NFL is still considering playing a regular-season game in either Spain or Brazil in 2024 in an effort to further energize a foreign market that it hopes can match the fervor of German fans.
.
The Estadio Santiago Bernabeu of Real Madrid and the Estadio Metropolitano of Atletico Madrid have both been considered by the NFL as potential host venues for a game in Spain, according to Fisher.
The league has already played three games in London this season, and it will play twice in Germany the following month.
In order to prepare for the 2026 World Cup, Estadio Azteca is undergoing stadium renovations, so there are no games in Mexico.
