Pittsburgh Steelers make CB roster moves official
Desmond King would be traded for Darius Rush by the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to last night’s NFL Network report by Tom Pelissero.
The group formally announced it today.
Rush had to be added to the 53-man roster right away because he had been signed from another team’s practice squad (the Kansas City Chiefs).
Pelissero claims that Pittsburgh made an effort to pair King with a trade partner.
Desmond King II, a cornerback from the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad, has been released and CB Darius Rush has been added to the 53-man roster.
.
The Indianapolis Colts released the 6-foot-2 Rush on August 30, and the Kansas City Chiefs picked him up off waivers the following day.
Rush has never participated in an NFL regular season game.
Rush attracted attention with a lightning-quick 40-yard time of 4:36, good for T-4, at the NFL Combine.
The list also included Joey Porter Jr., a future cornerback for the Steelers. Cory Trice Jr. and (T-10, 4.46).
(4.47, T-11).
Rush had 15 pass breakups, one sack, one forced fumble, three interceptions, and three pass breakups in his final two seasons at South Carolina.
Rush was visited by Pittsburgh during a top-30 visit prior to the NFL draft, indicating Pittsburgh’s interest in him, so his signing shouldn’t be unexpected.
Rush is very likely to be placed on the inactive list for the Steelers’ Sunday game against the Los Angeles Rams.
