Two more prospective candidates turn down a front office job interview with the Red Sox.

BOSTON — It’s not easy for the Red Sox to find a replacement for the empty front office position.
Boston has been unable to interview two more candidates who could take Chaim Bloom’s place.

The latest general managers to decline an interview with the Boston Red Sox are Los Angeles Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes and Philadelphia Phillies general manager Sam Fuld, according to Chad Jennings of The Athletic.

According to Twins President of Baseball Operations, Boston has seen a trend in this area.
Jennings claims that Derek Falvey turned down the team’s offer of an interview as well.
The previous Texas Rangers president of baseball operations, Rob Bradford of WEEI, revealed last week. Jon Daniels turned down an interview as well.

Given that Fuld and Gomes are both New England natives and serve as second-in-command in Philadelphia and Los Angeles, respectively, it’s noteworthy that they would both decline.

Craig Breslow, a Connecticut native and former Red Sox reliever, is reportedly “a potentially strong candidate” for the Boston opening, according to a Monday report from Joel Sherman of the New York Post.
