Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics are reportedly among the teams interested in the former starter for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The 2023 Eastern Conference champions might want to return the favor after the Cleveland Cavaliers signed Max Strus, a key player from the Miami Heat in 2022–203, earlier this offseason.

A number of teams, including the Heat, are reportedly showing interest in Lamar Stevens, a wing who is currently on the market after playing his first three seasons of professional basketball with the Cavaliers.

The [Boston] Celtics, [Minnesota Timberwolves], [Houston Rockets], and Heat are among the teams that have expressed interest in Lamar Stevens, according to HoopsHype, an NBA insider.

Actually, Stevens was a part of the sign-and-trade that brought Strus to the Cavaliers.
Stevens was traded to the San Antonio Spurs as part of a three-team deal overall.

He became a free agent after being released by the Spurs, who had previously acquired him.

With 62 appearances and 25 starts in the regular season for the Cavaliers, the 26-year-old had a significant impact on the team.
He played an average of 18:1 minutes per game, averaging 5:3 points and 3:3 rebounds while shooting 44:8 percent from the field and 31:6 percent from beyond the arc.

Stevens found himself on the outside looking in as Cleveland’s rotation shrunk in the 2023 NBA Playoffs because he only played a small part in two games and saw little action.

It’s no secret that the Damian Lillard trade saga has kept the Heat in a bind during the offseason.
The Portland Trail Blazers have reportedly been difficult to work with in trade negotiations, and the Heat have reportedly missed opportunities to add some important players because of the uncertainty they are currently experiencing.

In the event that the Heat sign Stevens, he’d probably be a part of the rotation, especially if they eventually sign Lillard and give up some wings in the process.
The fact that there is such a flurry of interest in the Philadelphia native may mean that he is among the top players still available this offseason.

Stevens entered the league undrafted, and it’s well known that the Heat have had great success over the years with players of that caliber.
This is also important to note.
The prospect of working for a Heat organization that would do everything in its power to maximize Stevens’ potential might inspire Stevens.

It will be interesting to see where Stevens ends up as the 2023–24 season approaches.
