As Max Verstappen’s scenario is rejected, Lewis Hamilton makes a demand of Mercedes F1.

Verstappen and his Red Bull team have easily won both F1 championships this year, while Hamilton and Mercedes have struggled to keep up and have not yet claimed a victory.

Lewis Hamilton put pressure on his Mercedes team to overtake Red Bull without waiting for the leaders to lose steam.

The 14 races so far this year have been won by Red Bull. Verstappen has won 12 of those races, including the last 10 in a remarkable winning streak that broke records.

Mercedes are not an exception to the wide disparity between Red Bull and their competitors.
Since the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Hamilton has gone two seasons without a race victory due to his performance deficit.

In order to close the gap, he does not want Red Bull to be in any way weakened. Instead, the seven-time world champion wants his crew to keep getting better so that it can push its way back to the front of the grid on its own.

He said to reporters: “I was asked earlier if I would rather take Max [Verstappen] out of the equation or take [Red Bull chief technical officer] Adrian Newey out of the equation. I said, ‘Neither.'”.
To improve, all we need to do is move up a level.

“They did a fantastic job.
They have done and are continuing to do amazing work, so you can’t hold it against them. I just want to level us all up, but there are plenty of opportunities in these next eight races, so I’m just making sure we’re ready to be there if anything does come our way.
For that, we still have hope.
“.

Mercedes anticipates that the Singapore Grand Prix this weekend will be favorable for their vehicles.
After both of Friday’s practice sessions, George Russell and Hamilton both finished in the top six, which is promising for the future.

Although we didn’t have a great race, Hamilton said, “I think we were relatively competitive last year.”.
But given the car we had last year, I’m hoping the car has improved significantly since then.
Therefore, hopefully, we are getting a little closer to the front.
I’m hoping we can compete for a podium.
The truth is that I’ll learn with everyone else on Friday.
“.

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz both placed first and second in the time sheets in both of Friday’s practice sessions. Carlos Sainz then displayed his speed in FP2 after it had grown dark.

Verstappen, however, was having a lot of difficulty keeping his car balanced and noted as much after the day’s racing: “A little worse than expected today, struggling a lot with the balance of the car.
In FP2, we tried a few different things; some were successful, others weren’t, but we never really managed to put the car together.
There are a few things to work out tonight.
