The Sydney Roosters star is a subject of interest for the Super League commissioner.

Ian Watson, the head of the SUPER LEAGUE, has declared his desire to sign Thomas Deakin, a star for the Sydney Roosters.

Deakin, 21, has participated in 20 games for the Roosters’ NSW Cup team, and Huddersfield Giants manager Watson confirmed he is interested in bringing Deakin to the John Smith Stadium in 2024 and beyond.

He’s someone we’ve been speaking to and I know him, so he’s definitely of interest to us,” Watson said.

“He met some of our criteria for a young No. 9.
A new one is very challenging to bring into the UK illegally.
“We discovered through his agent that he was English and had spent his formative years playing for Oldham St Annes, which was ideal.

“He’s a great kid and a good player, but we spoke very little.
He is someone we hope to have on board because he is good at bluffing in tumultuous situations.
