Daniel Jones’ demeaning Brock Purdy comparison degrades the New York Giants.
Following the NFL’s “Thursday Night Football” game, the salaries of star players Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers and Daniel Jones of the New York Giants were highlighted.
Following their Week 3 match, the San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants’ quarterback situations were brought to light.
The Giants traveled to Levi’s Stadium to play the unbeaten Niners to begin the third week of the NFL season on “Thursday Night Football.”.
The Niners won 30-12 behind quarterback Brock Purdy to improve to 3-0 on the season.
In contrast, the Giants, who have Daniel Jones at quarterback, are currently 1-2 through three games of the season. The two franchise quarterbacks for the two teams have been compared in the wake of the defeat.
Purdy completed two touchdown passes while only throwing one interception for a total of 310 passing yards.
Jones had 137 passing yards overall with one interception but failed to complete a touchdown pass.
In the hours following the Giants vs.
Niners game, NFL reporter Andrew Brandt tweeted a comparison of Purdy and Jones’s pay packages. The post merely listed how much money each quarterback would make during the 2023 season.
According to Spotrac, Purdy will make $8700,000 with the Niners in 2023. Jones will make $46 million this year, so this is a significant decrease in comparison.
In March, Jones agreed to a new four-year deal worth $160 million, placing him among the top 10 NFL quarterbacks in terms of earnings. Jones will make an additional $36 million in 2024, $30,5 million in 2025, and $47,5 million in 2026, according to Spotrac, in addition to his salary for 2023.
But over the next four years, Purdy will make significantly less money.
Purdy, who was selected 262nd overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, is currently in the second year of the rookie deal he signed in 2022.
In his first season in the NFL, Purdy helped the Niners advance to the NFC Championship Game by stepping in for the injured Jimmy Garoppolo, earning him $780,000.
Over the next couple of years, Purdy’s pay will rise a little bit, but not to Jones’ Giants-level level.
The quarterback for the Niners will make $870,000 this year and $985,000 in 2024.
In 2025, the final year of Purdy’s rookie contract, that sum will rise above $1 million to $1.17 million.
