Zach Johnson, the captain of Team USA, receives criticism from Bryson DeChambeau for his Ryder Cup snub.

Zach Johnson’s decision to leave Bryson DeChambeau off the Team USA roster for the 2018 Ryder Cup, which begins on Friday in Italy, has drawn criticism from the golfer.

Golf professional Bryson DeChambeau criticized Team USA captain Zach Johnson for his Ryder Cup absence.

Several prominent Americans who were eligible for the Ryder Cup were not chosen, including DeChambeau.
This Friday, September 29, the prestigious competition gets under way at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Italy.

Due to the world ranking points not taking into account his performances on the LIV Golf circuit, the 30-year-old did not automatically qualify for the Ryder Cup.
DeChambeau switched last year, quitting the PGA Tour in the process, to join the Saudi-funded breakaway league.

Taking home his second victory on the tour, DeChambeau won the LIV Golf competition in Chicago on Sunday. And the American seems to have criticized Johnson’s choice to pass him over for Team USA in the Ryder Cup.

DeChambeau is reported as saying to Bunkered, “If you look at it, it would have been nice to at least just have a call.”.
“There are many people that I believe Zach should have mentioned here, but we didn’t.

Although we are not different, I understand and accept it.
We are still in a contest.
We’re still putting in a lot of effort to be the best we can be.
I’m not sure if it was backended or not.
I’m not ready to share that conversation.

“I don’t know what it was or who made that decision, but it would have been nice for them to consider us more because we’re pretty damn good out here.
“.

Johnson selected six captain’s picks for Team USA, but DeChambeau was not one of them.
Along with six-time major winner Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, a two-time major winner, left the PGA Tour to compete in LIV in 2022 but was not chosen.

Johnson chose Sam Burns, Rickie Fowler, Brooks Koepka, Collin Morikawa, Jordan Spieth, and Justin Thomas as his captain’s picks. They joined those who were already qualified, including Wyndham Clark, Max Homa, Brian Harman, Xander Shauffele, and Scottie Scheffler.

At the Belfry in England, Team USA will attempt to win the Ryder Cup for the first time since 1993.
Having defeated Europe 19-9 at Whistling Straits in 2021, the United States currently holds the trophy.

Several other players who had been team stalwarts and were also competing for LIV Golf have not been chosen for Team Europe.
Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood, and Sergio Garcia are all absent, and Luke Donald took the place of Henrik Stenson as captain in August 2022.
