Damian Lillard release official statement following the massive Milwaukee Bucks trade.
Damian Lillard, a former guard for the Blazers, speaks for the first time following the massive Milwaukee Bucks trade.
On social media, Damian Lillard made his first public comments since being dealt to the Milwaukee Bucks, saying that he won’t address NBA casuals about his decision but will instead send a message to Trailblazers supporters.
Following his sensational trade to the Milwaukee Bucks, Damian Lillard has promised to write a lengthy letter to Portland Trail Blazers supporters.
“The casuals won’t be addressed, but the Trail Blazers’ supporters and the city of Portland, which I genuinely love, will be,” the former All-Star guard from Portland wrote.
Keep an eye out.
@Bucks I’m excited for my next chapter.
In a three-team deal with the Phoenix Suns, the Trail Blazers traded Lillard to the Bucks.
In addition to the unprotected 2029 first-round draft pick of Milwaukee, Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, and unprotected Milwaukee swap rights in 2028 and 2030 were given to Portland.
Jusuf Nurkic, Grayson Allen, Nassir Little, and Keon Johnson were all acquired by the Suns through a trade.
As stated by his agent, Aaron Goodwin, to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, when Lillard asked for a trade in July, he wanted to play for the Miami Heat.
The 33-year-old Lillard had a standout NBA season last year, scoring 32 points on average per game and shooting 64 percent of his shots for true. He is renowned for his lethal pull-up shooting abilities and was regarded as one of the best pick-and-roll point guards in the league.
He is often compared to Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry, an All-NBA player.
Lillard refused to answer any inquiries about the Trail Blazers organization during a recent interview at his Formula Zero Elite Camp.
He did, however, stress how much he still cares about Portland and its supporters.
Lillard told Andscape, “I can say that there was [a trade request], and I just would prefer not to speak on the Trail Blazers.
“I adore Portland, Oregon. “.
“I’ll continue and complete every project I’ve started, no matter what.
Because I feel about Portland in the same way that I have expressed, the love will be that way. I always say what I mean and mean what I say.
It has been okay.
The same thing has always been the case.
People in the Portland area only ever express their love for me.
Literally, they claim that. We cherish you, Dame.
We are grateful for everything.
So goes the conversation.
It is fairly straightforward and direct.
“.
The Damian Lillard Foundation, which has operations in Oregon, is another entity owned by Lilliard.
Despite being regarded as one of the greatest Blazers of all time, his influence goes beyond Portland’s scheduled NBA games.
The former Portland guard is actively involved in a number of community service projects, with a particular focus on the RESPECT program, which inspires young people to work hard and continue their education. Lillard has stated that he will continue to work to serve the Portland community.
After the trade, Blazers supporters and online users started carefully scouring previous tweets from the seven-time NBA All-Star. They discovered a tweet from Lillard in which he simply replied, “No,” when asked if he would join the Bucks after they fired former coach Mike Budenholzer.
On social media, the post received over 10,000 retweets, with the majority highlighting the irony of the breaking transaction.
