Browns GM Andrew Berry keeps door open to adding All-Pro RB

All-Pro RB addition is still a possibility, according to Browns GM Andrew Berry.

A top running back in the league has been linked to the Browns ever since they lost star RB Nick Chubb to a season-ending knee injury in Week 2, and general manager Andrew Berry has never denied that the team is interested in signing him.

Berry reportedly said to reporters that he “can’t say if he’d pursue Colts running back Jonathan Taylor.
It’s undoubtedly not enough information to make a decision, but it gives supporters of the change some optimism.

Taylor’s relationship with Indianapolis appears to be improving, even if Cleveland expresses interest. The 24-year-old was listed as a full participant in practice on Wednesday and is scheduled to address the media on Thursday at some point.

The Browns should go all-in on Taylor if things don’t improve, as he led the NFL in 2021 in rushing yards (1,811) and rushing touchdowns (18), and they had Super Bowl aspirations at the time.

Since Berry has had a few aggressive offseasons, it wouldn’t be entirely unexpected if this was his next big move.
However, getting the former second-round pick will probably require high compensation.
.

Cleveland appears to be continuing to rely on running backs Jerome Ford, Pierre Strong, and Kareem Hunt for the time being, though.

Berry expressed satisfaction with the running back room.

This season, the three running backs have rushed for 288 yards and two touchdowns.
They don’t really jump off the page, those numbers.

In Week 5, the Browns will be off, giving them some time to decide what to do.
Cleveland must take Taylor into consideration if he is available.
