NRL club considering to offer lifeline to off-contract centre

NRL team is thinking about giving the center who is not under contract a lifeline.

Recently, a move to the Super League was mentioned in connection with him.

Off-contract outside back Morgan Harper, who has been linked to a move to the Super League, is expected to receive a lifeline to stay in the NRL.

The former Manly Sea Eagles player has recently been linked to a move to the Warrington Wolves, where he would be Sam Burgess’ first NRL signing.
A new club has, however, joined the conversation.

The Parramatta Eels, who are considering signing Harper for the 2024 season, have conducted a medical evaluation on Harper, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

Harper, who unfortunately struggled while playing for the Manly Sea Eagles, will likely always be remembered for being completely destroyed by Sharks center Siosifa Talakai last season.

Only seven appearances were made by Harper this season with the team, and his departure from the starting lineup coincides with the rise of Tolutau Koula.

The 25-year-old began his career with the Canterbury Bulldogs before switching to the Sea Eagles in 2020.
In Round 25 of the 2019 campaign, he made his NRL debut for the team.
He would play one more game with the Bulldogs before switching to the Northern Beaches.

Harper has previously been mentioned in connection with a move to the Parramatta Eels.

It was suggested that he might have joined the team through a player swap involving Nathan Brown on the eve of the 2023 NRL season.
Brown eventually joined the Sydney Roosters after the trade ultimately fell through.
