Steelers QB Named Trade Candidate
One of the veteran quarterbacks for the Pittsburgh Steelers may be able to move on.
PITTSBURGH: Mason Rudolph hasn’t appeared in a game for the Pittsburgh Steelers since Kenny Pickett joined the team.
However, with the trade deadline approaching and Mitch Trubisky locked down as the team’s backup, perhaps a move for the seasoned quarterback occurs.
I.e.
According to beat reporter Mark Kaboly, The Athletic selected Rudolph from the Steelers as the player from each team that is most likely to be traded by the trade deadline.
..
Kaboly notes, “Rudolph is interesting because he’s an expendable veteran third-string quarterback who’s still playing out a spring minimum deal.”.
“The Steelers aren’t expected to be actively looking to move Rudolph, who is also behind Mitch Trubisky, given that Kenny Pickett has had two concussions and a knee injury in his 17 career starts.
However, general manager Omar Khan has demonstrated that he will not hesitate to accept a good offer.
“.”.
Rudolph has been a rumored trade candidate for two years running.
Rudolph is unlikely to see the field during the season with Pickett and Trubisky on the roster, but he makes sense if a team is looking for a veteran with starting experience.
I.e.
With 16 touchdown passes to just 11 interceptions in his NFL career, Rudolph is 5-4-1 as a starter for Pittsburgh.
