Why is Colorado Buffaloes not playing and remaining 2023 college football schedule

The Colorado Buffaloes will not play in Week 8 of the 2023 NCAA football season under head coach Deion Sanders and Co. There are 5 games left this year.

The Colorado Buffaloes enter the bye week of the 2023 NCAA college football season after suffering a disappointing loss.

Coach Deion Sanders was disappointed after the Buffaloes’ 46-43 win over Stanford in Week 7.
Colorado led 29-0 at halftime, but lost in double overtime.

With Colorado not playing in a game since Week 8, Coach Sanders and his staff will have a chance to evaluate their position before returning to action on October 1st. 29 against UCLA.

Through the first seven weeks of the season, the Buffaloes are 4-3, a significant improvement over their 1-11 record going into the 2022 season.
However, the team’s form in recent weeks has not been at the same level as at the start of the year.

The Buffaloes started the season 3-0 after back-to-back wins against TCU, Nebraska and Colorado State.
They then suffered back-to-back losses to Oregon, USC and Stanford and ended the losing streak with a win against Arizona State University.

While Colorado is off for two weeks, the time off between games will be spent reflecting on the year so far and what lies ahead.
It’s been a week, but Sanders has been training his players for the past few days.

A video posted by Well Off Media shows Sanders addressing Buffalo players before the bye week.
In his speech, Sanders outlined the next steps Colorado will take in the final five remaining games of the 2023 season.

“I’m so proud of all of you,” Sanders told the players.
“I am proud of what I have achieved so far.

“I think we have to be much better.
There is much more progress to be made in the future. I know, you and me. We know the task before us.
“If we give up what we have to gain, it means we have to take what they don’t think they will gain.
So let’s buy one and get back to where we belong.”
