After receiving harsh criticism, Lewis Hamilton hits back at ‘short-minded’ F1 legend
Sir Jackie Stewart received criticism for his recent “short-minded” remarks about Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time World Champion.
Following months of intense speculation, Mercedes revealed that Hamilton had finally agreed to a new two-year contract extension until the end of the 2025 season ahead of the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
But in the days that followed, three-time World Champion Stewart criticized Hamilton heavily.
Regarding Lewis Hamilton, what did Stewart say?
Stewart made the controversial claim that Hamilton has some “serious problems” to address as his Formula One career progresses in a recent interview with German outlet BILD.
Stewart stated that Lewis was among the best Formula 1 drivers of all time.
But the truth is that he raced for a team that was essentially out of competition for the last ten years while he was a Mercedes competitor.
Lewis’ only real rival at the time was his respective teammate.
With the exception of 2016, he consistently won the battle. And then he lost to Nico Rosberg.
Although not the world’s most skilled driver, he is a good one.
However, Rosberg had a burning desire to win the world championship and an unbreakable will to do so. Lewis no longer feels that hunger.
He has significant issues as a result of that and the fact that the car isn’t as powerful as it once was.

Stewart receives a brief reply from Lewis Hamilton.
During a BBC Breakfast interview, Hamilton was asked specifically about Stewart’s recent remarks as he traveled back to his hometown of Stevenage to meet with students as part of his Mission 44 project to help expand opportunities for children to pursue STEM careers.
People with very limited minds sometimes make comments without understanding the work that has been done in the background, according to Hamilton.
He continued by saying that when he stops actively competing in motorsports, he wants to set a better example for the following generation of drivers.
“One thing I hope, and one thing I never want to do, is in the future, when I look back on the young people or the next generation of drivers, I want to be inspiring them and letting them know it’s okay to make mistakes.
It’s about inspiring people rather than putting them in their place. I aspire to be someone who looks like that.
“.
Returning to the track, Hamilton was questioned about how he has adjusted to a Formula One (F1) world where Red Bull is the dominant team and he hasn’t tasted victory since the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in 2021.
Despite the fact that we haven’t had any success, Hamilton said, the last two years have been an absolutely amazing time.
“We’ve all had to work together, support one another, so when we finally get the car where we need it, I think I’ll be even better equipped than I’ve ever been.
