Daniel Ricciardo’s return to Formula 1 is announced by AlphaTauri.
Having missed the Dutch Grand Prix due to a recent injury, Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo will return to the F1 paddock in Singapore, according to AlphaTauri.
During free practice at Zandvoort, Ricciardo broke a bone in his left hand, making it unlikely that he would compete in the following races.
At the Dutch GP, the incident happened during FP2 when Ricciardo crashed into the barriers at Turn Three while attempting to avoid a collision with fellow countryman Oscar Piastri.
The unfortunate incident left the Australian driver with a broken metacarpal, necessitating surgery to correct the problem.
This ain’t a setback, just all part of the comeback, Ricciardo said on Instagram, showing his unwavering resolve in the face of the setback. His resolve and commitment to get back into racing were immediately apparent.
Liam Lawson, a talented reserve driver for AlphaTauri, was called upon to fill in for Ricciardo while Yuki Tsunoda was out.
Until the “Honey Badger” is ready to re-enter the starting grid, the Kiwi driver will continue.
The team has stated in a press release that, although Ricciardo will be at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, his time in Singapore will be used only for engineering, as his recovery remains a top priority.
As a result, he won’t be available for any PR or media activities throughout the Singapore Grand Prix.
Fans of the Australian racer will undoubtedly be anxious to see him back on the track, but in the interim, they can find comfort in the fact that his resolve to return is unwavering.
