Daniel Ricciardo allegedly wants Sergio Perez’s Red Bull seat, to which Perez responds.

Sergio Perez has stated that he has no animosity toward Daniel Ricciardo and that rumors that Ricciardo wants his seat in 2025 are simply “how the business is run.”.

The’senior’ Red Bull seat that Ricciardo left in 2018 is one that he has made no secret of wanting to try and reclaim.
He spent only a few weekends racing for AlphaTauri before suffering a broken metacarpal in his left hand.

Ricciardo has openly stated he wants to get back behind the wheel to see how he would perform once more alongside Max Verstappen in the future.
Perez has a contract with Red Bull that runs through the end of 2024.

When Verstappen went on a record-breaking run of form that propelled him into the lead in the Drivers’ standings, Perez came under fire.
After a strong start to the season, he experienced a midseason slump.

Although Perez continues to hold the second-place position in the World Championship, Ricciardo, Red Bull’s backup, soon replaced Nyck de Vries at AlphaTauri and impressed when he got back on track.

Furthermore, Perez isn’t feeling tense about the possibility of competing against Verstappen for the partnership role through 2025 and beyond.

“Never, never. Daniel is a really good friend, after all.
When asked if it seems like Ricciardo is “circling” his seat for the 2025 season, Perez responded to Channel 4: “I get along really well with him, and this is how the business is run.

“You’re talking about 20 seats, and I doubt there are many available that are so interesting.
“.

When Sebastian Vettel was announced as Perez’s replacement at what would become Aston Martin the following season, Perez was on the verge of quitting Formula 1 entirely at the end of 2020.

When reflecting on that tumultuous period, Perez believes it was simply a matter of knowing that he had to do everything in his power to maintain his position on the Formula 1 grid.
Red Bull chose to line up Perez alongside Verstappen rather than Alex Albon.

Yes, he said, “I’ve always known that things in this sport are going to change very quickly.
